Wordpress pingbacks not working
« on: July 22, 2021, 02:03:55 AM »
My website is based on WordPress 5.8. and my VPS is running on CWP7 Pro. The pingbacks of the website have not worked for a long time. I have searched many articles. The reason why it does not work may be related to the host or control panel. How can I debug it?

You must write this line of code into your wp-config.php file to enable debug mode.

define ('WP_DEBUG', true)

Note: Pingbacks needs your xmlrpc.php file to work

I recommend that you don't have too many kernel versions available to boot, especially older kernel versions. Many people leave older kernels on their systems and in bootloader menus. There is a risk that you, or an attacker, could boot into an older kernel with a security vulnerability that could allow an attacker to compromise your system. Do a cleanup when you do kernel updates.

I recommend leaving the current and previous versions of the kernel on the system (unless of course you have updated the previous kernel to fix a security vulnerability).
Both LILO and Grub bootloaders are inherently unsafe if your attacker has physical access to your system. For example, by default, both LILO and Grub will allow you to boot into single-user mode. In single user mode, you have root privileges without having to enter the root password, also for 192.168.l.254 to start your network configuration.
Both LILO and Grub have this option to load.
