Any hint what might be the problem?
I'm using Centos Webpanel as well.
Thanks.

what is the version of mysql ?
-
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.73, for redhat-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.1
I can't even load CentOS Web Panel, because MySQL is not working.
Can anyone please assist?
-
Can I, for example, reinstall mysql on VPS, without losing existing databases, and would that fix this issue?
-
i'll recommend you to install mariadb
Installer with MySQL version 5.1
cd /usr/local/src
wget http://centos-webpanel.com/cwp-latest
sh cwp-latest
Installer with MARIA-DB 10.1
cd /usr/local/src
wget http://centos-webpanel.com/cwp-latest
sh cwp-latest -d mariadb
take backup of your database

Is there any way to fix this problem with MySQL Daemon?
All of the packages came with CWP installation and I didn't change anything.
Any assistance would be appreciated since my websites are useless now.

your issue should be investigate by the linux support staff, you should contact your hosting provider our our managed support for assistance.
-
Hello,
What exactly from the list here: http://centos-webpanel.com/support-services
would be enough so you can take a look at my VPS?
-
Hello.
For one question/issue you should using "One Time support".

I woke up today and was faced with the same problem. mysql daemon failed to start

Hello.
Contact to your hosting support or CWP managed support.
It could have many reasons.
I woke up today and was faced with the same problem. mysql daemon failed to start
-
Gosh, I never thought of that! Thanks for the helpful advise.

For whatever reason, mysql crash. Not sure if it was insufficient memory or if it was unnatural intervention by others.
But the way I was able to restart it was to rename the 3 files in mysql directory. (/var/lib/mysql)
ibdata1, ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1
Once that are renamed you should be able to shutdown or restart sql. The bad news is, you may have lost all of your database tables like I did. In the same directory, peak into one of your database folders and see if the tables are there. If they are missiing some tables then you are going to have to import your tables from shell if they are large. I copied the large dbase files into my server /tmp directory and then used the import command. The key thing is to have a backup of my sql. I fortunately had them in my server /backups directory.

Just remove mysql and reinstall it
service mysqld stop
yum remove mysql
yum --enablerepo=remi install mysql-server
service mysqld start
Go ahead if you want to Upgrage to 5.7
service mysqld stop
yum install http://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql57-community-release-el6-7.noarch.rpm
yum install mysql
service mysqld start
mysql_upgrade
chkconfig mysqld on
-
If you are facing the problem 'Access denied for user root' , you need to reset your root password
start mysql service in safe mode
service mysqld stop
mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables
run SQL commands
use mysql;
SET GLOBAL default_password_lifetime = 0;
SET PASSWORD = PASSWORD('YOUR_PASSWORD_HERE');
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
Note: your password must have enough security level (capital letter, small letter, number,and special character *#..)
update your CWP password, the location of theses files:
/usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/admin/include/db_conn.php
/root/.my.cnf
nano /usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/admin/include/db_conn.php
nano /root/.my.cnf
Note: change your password in two files above
Finally, start your mysqld
service mysqld start
Or reboot your server if necessary
