Resource usage issues
« on: March 27, 2017, 11:20:58 AM »
Starting to give up... Migrated from cPanel and still on same VPS, same settings, same OS template. Never had single issue for over a year on cPanel but now with CWP have high spikes in resource usage with many messages like below.

I have read many posts here on the forum and you point to VPS setup. For instance:

http://forum.centos-webpanel.com/centos-6-problems/centos-6-6-0-9-8-2/msg2199/#msg2199

If issue is with VPS provider/setup, why did everything work without any flaws using cPanel and CSF? If I am missing modules all of a sudden, why is this happening with CWP and not cPanel?

One VPS does not even have active sites but get emails over and over like:

- lfd on node2: Excessive resource usage: postfix (721 (Parent PID:721))
- lfd on node2: Suspicious process running under user postfix
- lfd on node3: Excessive resource usage: postfix (730 (Parent PID:730))
- lfd on node3: Suspicious process running under user postfix

I have CentOS 7 and 6 using CWPpro. They replaced cPanel in tests to see if schools can use CWP and so far cannot recommend. With all the budget cuts we were provided with government grant to study feasibility of using CWP and others (to replace 100's of cPanel VPS license) and at this point will not be able to recommend CWP.

Support tickets have been no help at all. Telling me VPS setup has issues when everything worked flawless on cPanel/CSF, is turning us toward another panel.

Do not mine paying for something what works and I will sound like broken record: why everything works on cPanel but not CWP?

Thanks. I did contact you and was told something wrong with VPS without even taking a look at issue:) Was just told "Let us know if you've any query regarding cwp pro."...

Ticket #176538

I do not want to disable messages about excessive usage. Cannot understand why anyone would just ignore them.

Anyway, after the school IT department supervisor became tried of trying to get working she is looking at other CP's to review.

CWP has some issues because NOTHING is configured for optimisation. But you can start googling. If you configure it properly, works better than cPanel
It's funny that: centos-webpanel.com has cPanel and not CWP installed.

Thanks for tip @botonakis

Was attempting to get CWP into schools since won grant to study best control panel but, lack of support prevented me from recommending CWP. If one pays for Pro, it should already be optimized:)

How can I exactly disable every notification and allow ONLY the critical notifications please?

You work in education but seemingly unable to read & digest!
WHM/cPanel masks those very same process warnings by having pre-configured ignores. If you don't believe me - go and look for yourself. You have already been given the answer - edit csf.pignore. (This could have been done in the now removed official CSF GUI.)
It ain't difficult and you don't need a Degree to suss it out. :-\

I have the file /etc/csf/csf.pignore opened.
Now what exactly have I to edit please?

You reply such a huge answer and you are not able to reply me just one line text example?

Thanks for your time.

That file has examples and if you care to compare it with your cPanel installation, you'll also have examples.   ::)

Code: [Select]
user:postfix
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/tlsmgr
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/qmgr
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/pickup
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/smtp
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/bounce
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/scache
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/anvil
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/cleanup
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/proxymap
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/trivial-rewrite
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/local
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/pipe
exe:/usr/libexec/postfix/spawn

Your incomplete post doesn't detail the command line being executed, so unable to be more precise. If you can't figure it out then perhaps a sysadmin needs to be employed.

I did not asked anything about cPanel.

What exactly have I to do with these lines? To comment them?

Or to remove them?

Thank you for your time.

I am trying to just disable the email notifications. If you are so smart and clever than me then forgive me the fool.

Thanks again for your time.
