How to Use my own DNS?
« on: November 30, 2016, 07:13:13 AM »
Hi! I'm currently hosting a VM on Azure with CWP. I'm trying to figure out how to use my own DNS instead of FreeDNS.

I'm actually a bit confused because I don't know if I should configure it within Azure Portal (i.e. change setting from 'Inherit from Virtual Network) or 'Custom'.

From how I understand it, if I currently set my A-Records and CNAME-records on my registrar to point to my Azure VM (i.e. use my public IP, use my Azure DNS name) the domain will end up pointing to the 'default' homepage of the server, not my specific account-website.

I'm using Namecheap as my Registrar. Is there any way where I can just set some A Records and CNAME Records on Namecheap and have it point to my CWP-hosted website?
