fileManager2.php missing file edit option
« on: January 16, 2018, 04:23:41 PM »
CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core)
Apache/2.4.29
PHP 5.6.30
CWPpro version: 0.9.8.415 (logged in as root)

mod_security for CWP with new OWASP installed
CWP SELinux enabled (enforcing/targeted)

Aside fileManager2 lacking a search option there are various files/directories (e.g. iptables) where the EDIT option is absent???
Is that supposed to be by design and if so how can EDIT be enabled (changing permissions is not doing the trick and thus far have not been able to locate any settings for the file manager), I am tired of file editing with nano in TTY?

http://phpfm.sourceforge.net/
that is the very same as fileManager2.php

Meantime I was to learn that it is lacking the ability to edit files with no extension (e.g. iptables). Rather unpleasant shortcoming in basic usability for a (pro) web panel.

CWP uses that PHPFM but modified.
If anyone knows how CWP validate login session that original PHPFM can be used instead of CWP's modified version.
But DO NOT use phpfm as-is original, it's not secure.

that us besides the point that the file manager (whether modified or original) is lacking the ability to edit files that do not have an extension, which is a huge shortcoming. Notwithstanding the absence of a search routine. Any major label in the web panel arena is featuring file managers with the necessary functionality, this CWP file manger is rather a handicap and the support is not helpful either.

suppose a workaround are external file managers over SSH, though it would be rather convenient to have a fully fledged file manager/editor integrated in the CWPanel

I wish CWP would port this ConfigServer Explorer https://www.configserver.com/cp/cse.html sleek and versatile file manager to CWP and things would be looking up towards perfection ;)

why is eXtplorer File Manager available in the end user panel (0.9.8.436) but not in the root/admin panel?
