Title: Long domain names 40 char limit
Post by: masonbee on December 19, 2017, 07:13:24 PM
In order to enter a longer than 40 char domain name when creating a new user you can edit the html on the page but it is still truncated in the vhost file.

Example. Our health trust has the domain greatbarrierislandcommunityhealthtrust.org.nz so on creating their account I cheated by editing the html to get rid of the 40 char limit. Unfortunately it was truncated at a later stage again and to get the site to work I had to edit my vhosts file (add all those rg.nz's :)).

Is there any reason for this limit? Is it arbitary? Why not sixty char?
