How difficult is it to move from one CWP server to another taking all data and setttings apart from the setting that used to install CWP like the IP address etc?

the backup function can be used. but it copies not the emails. backup copy only everything what is in /home/username but email are stored in /var/mail/username. and i think it also does not copy your DNS settings.
cpanel does copy all. but it cost you an arm and a leg.

I'm trying to copy the backup folder to my local drive. After zipping the files and downloading them I can't get them to un-zip.
How do I get the backups to my local drive?
Thanks,
Gary
