« on: May 14, 2020, 01:29:09 AM »
hello,

can i change the main domain in my currently running live cwp pro server ? how to change it without having issues with current site and subdomains.

is there a way to smoothly change the main domain and private nameservers on my vps running cwp pro? kindly suggest the best possible solution.

Regards,

Hostname.  Yes it can be changed.  If however you are also changing the nameservers, make sure the pointers are setup with your registar at least 24 hours before hand.

but the hostname is different i.e. server.smartwebsolutions.club , isn't that the name of the server itself? SSL is configured and working for smartwebsolutions.club:2031 , actually i am using the same domain name in cwp client panel to host sites

if i change hostname to sws.pk will all the subdomains created with smartwebsolutions.club will automatically be changed ? all the sites will work smoothly after changing hostname ?

Your Hostname is: server.smartwebsolutions.club and it resolves to IP: 62.171.139.109 [Check Black List] [Check CWP SSL] [Check WebServers SSL]
rDNS/PTR = server.smartwebsolutions.club SUCCESS [Check SenderBase]

rDNS/PTR check for IP 62.171.139.109 = server.smartwebsolutions.club

CWP Admin Panel Link (by hostname)
CWP Admin Panel Link: http://server.smartwebsolutions.club:2030
CWP Admin Panel Link: http://server.smartwebsolutions.club:2086
CWP Admin Panel SSL Link: https://server.smartwebsolutions.club:2031
CWP Admin Panel SSL Link: https://server.smartwebsolutions.club:2087

You should be able to create a new domain and setup SSL for it then.   I'm guessing if your panel works without server., you somehow got your hostname cert to add an alias as domain.com as well.  So however you generated your Hostname cert would be the same, just with a different domain.

yes i added smartwebsolutions.club in hostname cert manually. now in the cwp user panel i am using the same domain i.e. smartwebsolutions.club to host my website and i have created several subdomains. after i change the hostname to sws.pk , do i have to manually change anything in the cwp user panel for the main site and its subdomains to work with new domain i.e. sws.pk

i think i have to create custom name servers with this new domain sws.pk to point to my server right ? i.e. ns1.sws.pk & ns2.sws.pk

if you want to, you can keep your origional domain, AND added your new domain to the hostnme certificate.  CWP listenes on all IP's for all domains, so you shouldn't need to change anything for CWP, other than regenerating the hostname certificate.

The home domain of the CWP pro account using Centos 7, by default points to the path /home/USER_NAME/public_html. How can I change this path to /home/USER_NAME/myproject/public?
