Configuring webpanel network/security
« on: March 13, 2018, 02:33:48 PM »
Hello guys !
I just finished to install a CentOs7 server and today i installed CentOs WebPanel.
As i am newbie in Linux and networking i got some problems in configuring my server..
Can someone please explain me, step by step how i set my server's nameservers and how i can host my websites on my server?

I would like to use free dns from CentOS webpanel or no-ipdotcom.
I also need to make other settings in command line?
Any help is welcome !

Hello! Welcome to the CWP family  ;D

To change hostname, look at the "CWP info" section of CWP homepage at the bottom right of the page, or go to this url [ http://IPADDRESS:2030/admin/index.php?module=change_hostname ]

In the CWP info section of the homepage, you can also see the NS (nameservers) and adjust those to what you want, like 127.0.0.1 for using the DNS on CWP.

I personally love using Cloudflare as a Free DNS and anti-ddos protection.
Trying to help people :)

Glad to have an answer from you.
It has already passed few hours and i didn't succeed anything..

When i try to access server directly from my public IP, nothing happen.. This is my server's public IP: 79.114.130.64.
After few hours, i noticed that i am super noob and the situation made me more noob..

For example, i'm getting Free DNS from cloudflare. Where i am going to submit the DNS name?
I have domains registered with europeregistry. There i changed nameservers with ns1.centos-webpanel.com also ns2, and my server's public ip. It's correct?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but the hours that i have lost trying to make the server to work online, made me more stupid..
Thank you !

I am still trying to solve this problem.. As i understood, i need to do some port forwarding from my router.
What ports i should forward to my server ip to make it working?
