postfix main.cf different on 2 Stream servers
« on: January 03, 2022, 09:52:14 PM »
OK, postfix on my stream server has been a total nightmare for the past 3 weeks.

I have stream8 server.   Nothing but trouble.

So I spun up another stream8 server to compare postfix files.  And they are totally different.  Both running postfix 3.4.8 and both have major differences.

So what do I do at this point?  I think all of my complaints has caused developers to investigate and as a result, they have made significant changes to the main.cf file.

I need to know how to proceed with my original stream8 server which is only 3 weeks old.  My new stream8 server is a few days old.

I have Centos 8 Stream too. I'm running my postfix fine with extra configs for enforced ssl. It's running fine.

What was the first issue you encountered that made you go into this path of nightmare?

Or just rebuild the postfix server and post the main.cf here. Hide the IPs and stuff if you want.

rebuilding the mail server doesnt fix anything.

Look at these two main.cf files.

One is a server 3 weeks old and the other is 1 day old

https://silverbells.us/stream-new-main.cf

Big differences between these files.

The old one seems to be looking fine.
The new one has a lot missing. It looks messed up. Why is there a custom ssl? is the hostname's ssl not working?

By the way, have you replaced the Stream repos with the cwp ones?

I just did a rebuild the mailserver on a test server running Centos 8 Stream w/Delayed Repos. The main.cf file looks fine on it.

I havent done anything to either servers.  I did read on the wiki that it was possible to do so.  I really don't remember if I did or did not.

So, after rebuilding postfix the two files are now almost identical.

The exception being
tls_server_sni_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/vmail_ssl.map
in the older stream server and not appearing in the new stream server.
