Backup migration between Cpanel and CWP
« on: May 02, 2024, 02:50:01 PM »
Good day! I turn to the infinite wisdom of this community to see if they can help me.

I have a Cpanel backup file where everything the client had on their hosting was included, the most relevant are the emails. I must move this to another hosting with CWPro. The detail is that CWPro says that it processes the Backup file but the truth is that it does not.

The cpanel hosting is already deactivated, it had the same domain as the current CWPro.

I already created the mailboxes manually so that the client did not lose time and connectivity, but I need to import the previous emails to the new mailboxes. Will somebody know how to solve it?

At this point, you may be best off moving the cPanel backup (.tar.gz) file to the CWP server. Expand it, then you can manually move the mailbox contents into the corresponding /var/vmail domain folders.

The healthiest thing here is to copy the cpanel .tar.gz file into the /home/ directory and then go to the cwp admin and do the cpanel migration from the Account Migration from cPanel module and let cwp do the hard work for you. you
