New Roundcube 1.6 version failed
« on: June 20, 2026, 06:16:31 PM »
Today all my servers updated to the new version of roundcube 1.6 and all failed, all says Internal Server Error, I notice that the owner in all files and folders is not cwpsrv and that the permisions on files and folders arent the correct ones, So I fixed that but still with the error.

I changed to the old version 1.4 to make it work for now.

Any ideas???

You need the 1.5.15 LTS version for compatibility with CWP (unfortunately, the 1.5.x branch is EOL as of the end of March of this year):
https://starburst.help/control-web-panel-cwp/control-web-panel-cwp-admin-tutorials/update-roundcube-webmail-to-version-1-5-15-in-cwp-on-almalinux-8-9/

Hopefully the dev team will update the PHP backend from 7.2 to enable further updates on Roundcube and other services.

Short solution:

1. Create some account with the domain name like:
webmail.hostname.com
(or whatever you want) on your server.
2. Enable PHP 7.3+ for this account
3. Install Roundcube into the public_html of the account
4. Copy and chown the file:
/usr/local/cwpsrv/var/services/roundcube/config/config.inc.php
to
/home/USERNAME/public_html/config/config.inc.php
of the account
5. Set up a redirect in /usr/local/cwpsrv/var/services/roundcube/ to redirect visitors to webmail.hostname.com or block access to /usr/local/cwpsrv/var/services/roundcube/ for security reasons.
6. Use webmail.hostname.com to check emails.

Don't forget to update the installed Roundcube from time to time.

I'm going to fuck with cwp, I'm at the end of my patience, I tried to upgrade to roundcube, error!!!, I used Starburst's script, then I get an internal server error in roundcube, it doesn't see my emails, if I use Sandeep's script it goes, until the next update, 1.5.16 - where does it give me a php error, it asks for php 7.3 :)))))))), seriously??? and do you see the solution to put it on a user with a subdomain? but what are these gibberish :))))), is this normal? I tried to put fresh cwp on almalinux9 yesterday, the latest version according to the documentation on the forum, do you want to upgrade to Ana-Maria-Database - cwp is broken, nginx 1.14??, it's a joke!!!
