Title: Change Storage Volume for New Users
Post by: sahan on November 21, 2023, 01:22:20 PM
Hi there, I'm just wondering if is there a way to change the storage volume for new shared hosting users?

I have a CWP server on a VPS that has only root volume. currently, there are some users on it (ex: /home/user1, /home/user2, etc..)
but the storage is limited on root volume with the demand.
if I plan to add a separate block volume for my VPS, can I use that block volume for new users? like vol2/home/user3 or should I extend the root volume?

I keep incrementally extending the VM's root volume as needed (when it gets to 80%+ full). Keeps full image backups more manageable and you don't have to fuss with tricking CWP with symlinks or mount a separate /home volume into the filesystem. Don't forget /var/vmail is a large consumer of your disk space.
