Title: Petition to REMOVE NETDATA ENTIRELY from Centos-webpanel
Post by: ejsolutions on May 04, 2019, 07:03:32 PM
One of my little used, low-cost VPS has CWP installed.
I received (in junk email) two notifications from netdata about some mysql error - a pretty incomprehensible warning, at that.
It thought "Hang on, I don't remember installing that there, maybe I did", so logged into CWP. There was a notification for some software updates, so I kicked them off.. Whilst it got busy doing that, I thought "Alright crappy netdata what's going on", so I clicked on the CWP links just to see what the situation was.

BANG!

The VPS provider suspended my VPS! No doubt due to some suspicious activity - primary suspect: netdata.

Please remove this utter trash from CWP with urgency.

I'm missing the option - let the admin decide if he wants to install it + add an option in the GUI to uninstall it.

You can delete it from the console. In new CWP version netdata security bugs fixed and it will not install without the server admin. ;)

You can reply netdata using this command
Code: [Select]
/usr/local/src/netdata/packaging/installer/netdata-uninstaller.sh --yes
Good thing is that CWP team has made netdata option and will not be installed by default. You can install it later if needed.
