Their mission says they aim to make it the most "affordable" web panel......in other words...$$$$$$$

This is a great webpanel make no mistake.

BUT not worth a dime as far as I am concerned.  There is ZERO support and TONS of bugs.  They provide a buggy webpanel and ask for money to fix the bugs.  The forum software they are using is one of the worst I have ever seen.  The only thing that could be worse is a blog instead of the forum. It is ironic that they rely on a FREE forum script called simple machines, yet they expect us to pay for the web panel.

The original owner had the right idea.  The new owners see dollar signs.  I wish them luck.  I will quickly switch to other alternative free web panels.  If I had to pay, I would go with the winner cpanel.  At this point, I could even continue without any webpanel.

CWP has a very very very long way to go before they can present themselves as a viable alternative to cpanel.

Hmmm everything you say is debatable, I have been using it for years and I have not released a $ for anything, it has some errors and those that are reported shortly disappear.

With regard to the forum, I do not see the problem using a free tool, CWP is also!

If you think there are no bugs then I suggest you read all of the posts and see how many of the bugs had solutions.

CWP was sold only a few months ago.  That was when they started offering a non-free version called cwp-pro.  All versions will be charged in the very near future.  I suggest that you start preparing to pay, or find an alternative now before the proverbial stuff hits the fan.

CWP is from start developed by studio4host and nothing has changed and will not be changed in a bad way's you are talking about.
Anyways if you prefer some other software then you should use it and don't bother others with some made-up ideas.

We are using the most widely used software in cwp so anyone knows how to resolve issues by simply using google.
We also fix all that is reported, some things take more time and some need to wait for new developement...all depends.

CWP will go further and will bring much more new things soon.

Before you bring new things, you should think about fixing all the other things that dont work.  1,000s of posts are unanswered, for whatever reason.   All of the other categories besides the first category, receive very little attention by the developers.  Its very frustrating to come here and get no help.  There isnt much life in this forum.  Same old posters most of the time.  Studio4host has a pretty standard response that says "open a support ticket", for a fee.

Im not trying to encourage others to go somewhere else.  But I can see the handwriting on the wall.  The developers (if there is actually more than one) need to pay closer attention to the user community.  Right now, no one is listening.  If you would like, I could give a count of the unanswered bug reports since january 1.  My guess is it would be somewhere between 500 and 1000.

Thats a very big number for a small group of users.

+1 for congrats on the new look. A step in the forward's direction ;)

I think a couple of negative comments here are being a bit harsh...sure have a complain when things that are simple should be easy to fix but are not fixed, but dont trash the panel completely.

Let's face it, when it comes to value for money (in terms of the pro version), I think people are getting a great deal when compared with just about any other panel I can think of.

It's also silly to make any kind of comparison with cpanel. If you would prefer to pay $15 month or more, vs $10 year for CWP, by all means...i won't stand in your way and good luck to you ::)

I think as time goes by, eventually, these guys will build this into a rival to cpanel, Plesk, Virtualmin for sure...but let's be honest about this, one is comparing control panels that have been around for many years and a couple of which have rather large staff numbers...hardly fair comparison!

In finishing up, however, I will concede, there are some rather elementary fixes that this panel desperately needs before they go expanding its horizons. If the basics are not fixed, the expanded version takes that bugs with it. In the end, this becomes a bloody expensive flaming nightmare to fix!

As an example, anyone here every had anything to do with Microsofts FSX (original flight simulator). When Lockheed Martin took over the development (renamed prepar3d) it cost them a huge amount of money and years to fix the completely f%$ked up codebase!!!

One of the elementary things that is not only staring everyone in the face but also screaming out for a fix is

the inability of the file manager to sort files alphabetically.

FFS please fix this!!!

file manager was already fixed with the new version and it has drag&drop, double click enter folder, single click file rename.
cwp is also preparing to release an even better file manager update next month.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the file manangement scripts borrowed from someone else like phpmyadmin and Roundcube are borrowed?

Neither studio4host nor admin has had anything of substance to say in response to the more difficult concerns raised in this thread.

ANY software on the internet is only as good as the vitality of the community support group.  On a scale of 1 - 10, I give this forum a solid 4! And I think that I am being generous with a 4.

+1 for me, the new website it's fantastic, congratulations to the Administrator, all Developers and to the Staff for this great work.

I also want to add that after having used the most famous and much more expensive control panels like cPanel, Plesk, Virtualmin and even Cloudmin for years and years, I can personally say that CWP (Cestos Web Panel) in free version is much more solid, stable and high-performance of all the other control panels and in addition it is also much more intuitive and also has many more options.

I conclude by saying that the best money I have ever spent are the ones I spent, I am spending and I will continue to spend for the paid CWP PRO (Centos Web Panel PRO) version, which at a really low price of only $ 1.49 monthly still offers more than the already excellent free version of CWP (Centos Web Panel), in fact in my opinion $ 1.49 monthly for the CWP PRO version (Centos Web Panel PRO) are really too few and in my opinion, for what it really offers, it would be right that raised the price to $ 2.49 monthly so they could even hire some other developer and continue to grow and improve faster.

I close by thanking my heart, for the excellent work they do, both the CWP (Centos Web Panel) Administrator, and all the Developers and all the Staff.

Thank you very much, a loyal customer of yours.

:-)
