I'm having the same problem. and I just made a post about it, I was thinking it might be something wrong since I just moved everything to new hardware with a fresh install of CWP, now I'm thinking it's CWP itself!

I had the same problem i ran sh /scripts/update_cwp still the same i was looking around php settings and came across PHP Addons and found IonCube Loader was not enabled.
this is a new server and i was setting it up at the time and i had changed php to latest i dont know if this and the update was the issue so i enabled IonCube Loader and now i can login as a user.
i hope this helps
