Title: 502 error for websites hosted on CWP.
Post by: debj on October 08, 2019, 10:43:20 AM
Hello, This is so much pain. Is there is a way to stop auto-update? Its breaking everything. Now its update itself and all my sites are showing error 502.
Php switcher is now pro without any notice and stopped working.
And let me tell a joke, they delete all my posts and account just for that.

it's very simple, if you want to use a php-selector then you need to use cwppro version.
You still can use php switcher to change php version.

This type of behavior is really unsustainable.
Even if i use a free service you can't directly cause a down state on servers which offers services to customers or public services.
This may be counterproductive bringing many agencies to ask for damages especially when talking about crucial services.
You can limit the configuration capabilities but you can't cause someone else's server to stop.

I think this is very simple, if you want to use services that are marked as pro then you need to have pro version.
By using pro you are making all us others dump for paying for it and you are slowing down development.

A pro feature it supposed to not work in free version from the beginning. If it's works, the users can think the pro tag it's a mistake, or it's something else.

If it works for months, you can't simply pull the trigger and put offline thousands of websites. You can of course, but the consecuences are here.

Maybe a better aproach it's to communicate the thing, and give a few weeks to the users to change their servers. I think that many people would have bought the PRO version without problem.

Now? Stay away, very far way, from this panel.

looks like you don't like to read warnings, as you had it more than 1 yr. on the top of each cwppro module.

if you want to make your own services then you will not have any conflict as you need to have all your custom from start and you are ready to go.
But if you follow and internet guide then you will not have conflict anyway but you could cause a crash of other services if you are not careful about dependencies or install some completed rpm's like remi...

please read this info, if you want to use something custom then use custom location which is not in use by cwp.
cwp is not owning /opt, but cwp installation location which has an additional path is used only by cwp and no other software is using it.

Looks that you cannot, if you want people to use your software, pull the trigger from one day to another without previous warning.

"Hey guys, in two weeks we will do this, disable it or buy pro", was very difficult?

This attiude is very bad and i hope users take note about it

guys here share many solution to fix this ,
pay for using cwp services , or make permission to php file again everyday (but this not a real solution)
try spend 1$/month 12$/year for cwppro to fix all your problem or change CWP to another free panel
if you have another problem in your life spend another 10$ for beer or 50$ / peer visit hospital
see every problems have solutions and the solution is ($) and select cwppro 1$/month because this good deal until now
thank you

You need to pay. And if you sites is down you need to pay. CWP team don't want to find nice solution, and you need to pay...

Yeah, I installed and configured PHP-FPM manually, not using the PHP-FPM Selector and someone from the CWP team thought: yeah, let's break their websites by changing the permission for the php-fpm executable without OUR CONSENT.

PHP-FPM is not built by CWP, what CWP is doing is wrong on so many levels.
I wonder if they can afford an invoice for the downtime caused because of their sneaky update!
