Title: Why does CWP not install latest MariaDB version
Post by: ryan on November 12, 2020, 07:10:57 AM
I have installed Centos Web panel several times this week. Each time it installs MariaDB 10.4 when we are deep into 10.5 as the latest version.

I have tried both http://centos-webpanel.com/cwp-el7-latest and el8 as well.

https://downloads.mariadb.org/

Is there a way to adjust the installer to always use the latest stable version of MariaDB?

Because CWP uses the 10.3 by default for el7 and 10.4 for el8
You can upgrade MariaDB version to requred once CWP installed.

Be advised that the mariadb developers have had a brain fart! The minimum number of connections has been set at 10, which stops it being used in a "low" RAM setup unless measures are taken that limit its' performance (less cache/buffers).

CWP developers, please leave the default at mariadb 10.3, with only an option to upgrade to 10.4
(I had to revert to mySQL 5.7 on one low RAM VPS.)

CWP uses default settings for ALL, you can edit settings as you want. Developers unable to change settings as you want just for you ;)

I'm not sure but if this was directed at me, then the point I was making is that it's not just for me, it is a general observation, for anyone running in 2GB RAM or less.
