Installation / Emails
« on: September 06, 2020, 03:58:04 PM »
hello, I never used emails on cwp

yesterday I made a new account for a new website, on the cwp panel I created a mail account and tried to send and receive an email from it.

When I send it, it works... (but it goes in spam) when I try to receive it, I get an error
550 5.1.1 <info@mydomain.com> sorry, no mailbox here by that name. #5.5.1

why does it happen?

can you suggest me a guide to set up my mail in the best possible way? to avoid it goes in spam and so on... where can I learn more about it?

thanks

Installation / testing 123
« on: August 07, 2020, 08:08:30 AM »
hello I've made a fresh installation of cwp, all seemed to be working just fine. then I added an account, linked to the domain, and I realized it's not working normally.

every time I create a new account, it just lead me to a "testing 123 page" instead of the regular index that show cwp.

why am I getting this? shouldn't it redirect to the index inside the folder? I tried adding an index inside the ftp but still doesn't get loaded. it's like something's wrong in apache configuration

here is the page text...

Testing 123...
This page is used to test the proper operation of the Apache HTTP server after it has been installed. If you can read this page it means that this site is working properly. This server is powered by CentOS.

PHP / Wordpress not saving changes - php max_input_vars issue?
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:42:35 PM »
hello, i'm having issues with a hosted website.
the website was developed locally and then uploaded to the server. It is wordpress based and use a page builder.
Everything is fine but when i try to change something inside a page, in the builder part... it doesn't save the changes.

the theme support says it depends on the server, and the php max_input_vars should be the problem. Actually if the change is small it works, but it doesn't when it's a bigger change. i put the max_input_vars to 25000 but i still get the error.

Any hint on how to fix? thanks

Installation / Re: 2 issues with permalink and ssl
« on: April 01, 2020, 03:56:24 PM »
thanks for your help!
i followed your suggests and fixed the wordpress issue.

but i can't fix the second one, actually if i try to reinstall it says it's already installed but if i go with my browser it says not secure.

If you click that "Admin Services" buton, and select at least one, it will grab a cert from letsencrypt.

i've done that, added ftp and says signed by let's encrypt but if i open the page in google chrome it still says not secure and gives me this error NET::ERR_CERT_INVALID

what's wrong?

Installation / 2 issues with permalink and ssl
« on: March 28, 2020, 09:27:38 PM »
Hello, i have cwp installed and configured. I also made free ssl within the cwp panel.

1) I tried to make an account and installed wordpress in it. Everything works fine, and if i try to go to my domain i can normally go, but when i enter wordpress panel, instead of giving me mydomain.url it goes to my cwp hostname/~mydomain/wp-login and the same happens when i try to use permalink for articles...

2)another weird thing is that if i go to the url mydomaing.url it says it's not secure, but when i get redirected in the hostname/~mydomain that is seen as secure.

what's wrong? please help me.Thanks

Installation / Re: hostname setup

Blimey!
Suggest leaving it as is.  :o

((Goes off to setup a NATed environment, to trial CWP under those circumstances.))

normally I know how to handle those parameters in a network, but in a vps I never changed those things.
I guess it's needed when you have multiple vps or they must be part of a vpn, isn't it? are there other reason to change them?
Where can I read more about this?
So should I just change to static the ip without adding those @ejsolutions thanks a lot for your patience and help :)

3) is a swappiness value of 20 too little?
if you've ssd and ram 3 gbs and up then disable the swap for better performance
Don't agree with this and goes against *nix memory handling. There are however, numerous arguments for/against swappiness. (I have a 128Mb swap on this SSD laptop, with vmswappiness=1 and there is some debate on whether 0 actually completely disables it.)

I'm following the guide... but I have doubt about it... when it says to edit the file ifcfg-interfacename and add network data such as ip, gateway and so on... ipaddr, gateway, network mask, dns... how can I know what to add? I'm sure its a noob question. I know my external ip, but how can I know the rest?

2. Ignore if you only have one IP address for your VPS, which you likely do. If you've used your povider's CentOS 7 template to install the server then the IP/mask/gateway will already be setup. It will probably be dynamic however and you should change to a static IP - Google it.
how to check if it's dynamic? thanks
