Installation / Re: Switch web server in CWP
« on: December 17, 2018, 03:55:34 PM »
Hi,

Thanks for replying. What settings may change? The CWP apache settings showed a few webservers and performance points. Can I trust them as they are and switch to the one with the highest points?

JJ

No. You will not mess anything by changing the web servers. However, you may lose/gain performance (based on new webserver you select) and get some settings changed.

Hi,

Will I mess up anything (existing websites, accounts, etc) if I just select another webserver from within CWP?

Installation / Re: Add domain to existing website

Hi studioforhost,

Yes it is for wordpress site. I have a wordpress site and now i will like to change it's domain name. Seems like achieving this using CWP isn't so straightforward. What do you mean by wordpress multisite? I am not so familiar with this, will it still be the same website?

JJ

you would simply need to check that the path for it is the same but in many cases this will not work as many sites like wordpress run rewrite rules and then it would redirect back to main domain...so you would need to run multisite config if wordpress is in question

Installation / Add domain to existing website

I have a domain added into CWP and a directory/website setup. I will like to add another domain to point to that same directory/website such that when I type in www.newSite.com it will show the same website as i type www.oldSite.com. And will doing this mess up my SEO?

Can anyone advise me how to do this?

PHP / Re: PHP INTL
« on: March 11, 2017, 04:27:51 PM »
Hi,

I am facing the exact same problem. I have 5.6.30 originally installed and my script needed 5.6.x and intl enabled. So in CWP, I went to PHP to install dependancies, then add --enable-intl, then check 5.6 to start compile. It now shows that it is installed I issued php --ri intl, nothing. I issued php -m, no intl. What did I do wrong or miss? Kindly advise.

Kindly explain in layman terms and preferably clear instructions (exact commands) to issue. Thanks in advance!

JJ
