We are very soon to release the first stable version of cwp9, possibly in the next few days we will look for some enthusiasts to control some close tests, surely all this will be announced in due course by this means!

A blog post would be nice. I am in the process of moving from CWP to Virtualmin because of the absolute lack of information.

I might put a hold on that if the release all goes well.  :)

This is my list of cPanel alternatives

I still have a few to add but any that I have missed I can add.

All software for Linux is now moving towards Ubuntu. 99% of Linux software packages seem to have at least an Ubuntu install package and everyone has heard of it.

But I will definitely watch this space as I am more a windows man than Linux, yet!!!

If using Alma or Rocky becomes a problem, CWP should consider moving to Ubuntu.

CentOS 9 Problems / Re: RHEL varient support update?

A blog post every now and then from the CWP team would be great, even if it is just to say things like we have now started work on EL9 compatibility.

We have made significant progress regarding this, but there are still things to be resolved, we are still working on this!
But this is good to hear.

Towards the bottom there are some different solutions. I am not a linux professional but I am sure I had a similiar issue and used one of these to fix it.

  • all you need is to disable protection on secure Process (Hide all processes if not owned by the user ) from cwp, do your commend then enable it again
  • It may have nothing to do with CWP but the messages stop showing up after systemctl restart postfix amavis when I did just that, disable security_UserProcess and re-enable right away.

@overseer - I completely agree

@iraqiboy90
EL9 = Enterprise Linux 9
EL9 = RHEL 9, AlmaLinux 9, Rocky Linux 9 - They are all based on  the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Distro (RHEL 9)

Installation / Re: CentOS migration plan for 2024?
« on: May 17, 2023, 02:10:32 PM »
Currently the cwp team is working many hours to make everything work on el9, everything will be completed soon

Might help you decide. I am going to try Alma because of their migration scripts called ELevate

I know about the supported OS, but it is confusing and you should never use stream even thought CWP team are pushing it.

Great news on EL9 support.  :) :) :) Thanks

CWP Team needs to:
  • Blog post on what is going on
  • Pick a recommended EL9 Distro and stick with it (Alma/Rocky)
  • Stop recommending CentOS Stream 8
  • When done, provide a migration tutorial. Alma has ELevate migration tool

i am going to do a test migration because I want native HTTP/2 support without having to do a workaround.

Why do you say that we are alone, not knowing how to attach an image?

probably because there is no information or interaction from the CWP team, and 3 of the most active members posted on this thread.

for what it costs, get the pro license and have a play. most people on Alma + CWP so it works with a few small issues.
