SOLVED! We found out that ssh needs to have "PermitRootLogin yes"

Could you make your solution a little clearer? Not 100% sure how to go about "PermitRootLogin yes"

Thanks for help!

Installation / Location of default HHTP Test Page for hostname
« on: February 17, 2022, 09:58:31 PM »
I have searched all over this forum and google, cannot find the location of default HTTP test page.

For example, my hostname is: server1.example.com

When viewing there is default HTTP Test Page. Where is this located so I can edit?

Thanks much in advance for help.

PHP / Re: PHP-FPM Running in Top 5 Resources
« on: February 04, 2022, 10:39:45 PM »
Sorry, I may have misunderstood your previous comment.

Run htop then press F4 to filter by word. Write "fpm" and it will show you processes with the name fpm in it. Take a look on the far right and you will see the path of where it is.

Here's an example:

Notice that CWP panel uses php-fpm 7.2.30 located in this path /usr/local/cwp/php71. DO NOT DELETE IT.

Maybe I am chasing a ghost :)

Installed/ran htop:

I did not know CWP used php-fpm. So, you have taught me something good! Never paid attention and assumed it ran on fastcgi.

The php-fpm processes are standard since CWP uses?

Now I ask your opinion. Is php-fpm a better choice over php cgi?

Thank you for your help and lesson.

Delete these folders if you like, at your own risk. Maybe a site is using one of them.

Not sure that would be good. I only have 3 sites as this is new install of CWP. PHPInfo from one site shows this:

Code: [Select]
Server API CGI/FastCGI

Virtual Directory Support disabled
Configuration File (php.ini) Path /opt/alt/php81/usr/php
Loaded Configuration File /opt/alt/php81/usr/php/php.ini

I only have PHP CGI installed and they show to be in /opt/alt/ directory?

Thank you for reply @iraqiboy90

I see this after running
Code: [Select]
ls /opt/alt

php74  php81

That is what I have installed.

PHP / PHP-FPM Running in Top 5 Resources
« on: February 03, 2022, 10:33:32 PM »
As the subject states I see PHP-FPM running in Top 5 Resources and driving CPU usage up. I do not have PHP-FPM installed.

Did install PHP-FPM at one time but deleted using the button shown with version installed in PHP-FPM Selector.

Thing is, I will see two processes popup and they using 7% of CPU each. They do drop down in processes, but why are they still there if I removed PHP-FPM completely?

I did some searching here in forum, but I'm not finding a good topic to help me understand. Thanks in advance for input.

Softaculous / Re: Softaculous doesn't work
« on: January 19, 2018, 03:33:19 PM »
Same sinking boat with everyone else:

"Due to API structure changes in CWP Softaculous is not compatible with this version of CWP. We will be adding support for this version of CWP soon."

Don't hold your breath waiting for CWP to fix. According to Softaculous support, "CWP team has quit communicating with us".

I guess CWP free (or pro) is no longer being supported (or developed?)

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: CWPpro version: 0.9.8.400
« on: January 19, 2018, 03:25:13 PM »
CWP could be the best control panel (behind cpanel) but seems every new release of pro version gets worse.

Not like paying big money for pro, but would not recommend CWP pro to anyone at this point. Cannot get help for admin and as you can tell they do not even care enough to address issues here on the forum...

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / CWPpro version: 0.9.8.400
« on: January 08, 2018, 07:00:06 AM »
3 servers updated to CWPpro version: 0.9.8.400 (centos7)

Now have these issues:

1) Cannot create subdomains or should say they do not resolve correctly, send to main domain.
2) Users can no longer login to the new port/form. Clicking "Login" has no effect.
3) Login to web panel. Will not completely load, have to click the "Dashboard" link to get full page to load.

I have one site that is not pro version and none of these issues exist?

Pretty sad at this point.

How to / Re: Password protect Directories
« on: December 28, 2017, 08:24:22 PM »
this is simple .htaccess
https://www.addedbytes.com/blog/code/password-protect-a-directory-with-htaccess/

at the moment it doesn't exist in cwp.client because client panel is under complete rebuild.

What a shame. I have never seen a bigger mess than what i am seeing now with you guys updates. CWP had a lot of potential but it is fading. We had hoped to use CWP throughout our school district but we had to rethink that...
