CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Problem after update - Again
« on: April 04, 2021, 05:12:48 AM »
Just ran dnf update tonight, and another problem popped up.

The system only update OpenSSL from 1.1.1g-12 to 1.1.1g-15 and the mail system broke, Again.

System also can't generate any new SSL certificates via the control panel.

Which wouldn't be a problem, Except in troubleshooting and SSL certificate wads deleted as it was tried to be recreated, but can't.

This wasn't even a minor update, just a bugfix.

« on: March 07, 2021, 03:15:18 AM »
Ran the updates tonight from Dovecot 2.3.14-4 to 2.3.14-5 and the mail server stopped responding.
Tried rebuilding the mail server, and still no joy.

Update is directly from the Dovecot repo at$releasever/RPMS/$basearch

Worked fine on, broken again with

Another brand new install, and Apache won't Rebuild under CWP

Mod_Security / mod_security crashing Apache on new install
« on: February 07, 2021, 03:56:45 AM »
For some reason the mod-security screen is messed up and not showing the options.
And when you click on the icon to install, it crashes Apache.

Only way to get Apache working again, is to uninstall mod_security.

Again, this is on a brand new VPS running CentOS 8 and CWP that was just brought up yesterday (05FEB21)

OK, another weird problem.

The server isn't receiving emails from Gmail.
Can send to them, no problem.

Anyone else seen this?

So new server, and javascrpit isn't working for some reason.

Reset permissions using the Fix Permissions.

I know this is something simple and stupid I'm overlooking, but need some help what I'm missing.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Default IP won't change
« on: January 15, 2021, 06:30:58 PM »
CWPpro version:

The box has 2 IP's.
eth0 & eth0:1

In CWP Settings -> Edit Settings

I selected the 2nd IP as the "Shared IP" and saved.

But below it keeps showing "default: x.x.x.x" instead of whats IP is the box above of z.z.z.z

So when a site is auto created, it's using the default.

Where is the configuration file, so I can manually edit this to the correct IP?

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / 503 Bad Gateway - cwpsrv
« on: December 31, 2020, 12:39:48 AM »
After CWP runs an update and you try to login, it gives a "503 Bad Gateway - cwpsrv"

Logged into ssh, and restarted cwpsrv, but no joy.

Have to restart the server every time after a recent update to get CWP accessible again.

Just started with the update, also just happened now with the update.

« on: December 12, 2020, 09:44:21 PM »
It happened today again... When I checked the website with a browser, it went to the default page.

Looked at the vhost conf files, and the IPv6 that was manually entered was GONE, AGAIN.   >:(

Mod_Security / ModSecurity Security Bug
« on: November 22, 2020, 04:08:01 PM »
the servers had a DDoS attack yesterday, while researching after it was taken care of, I found out ModSecurity has a Critical DoS bug in it Official Advisory for CVE-2020-15598.

From versions ModSecurity v3.0.0 to ModSecurity v3.0.3
ModSecurity v3.0.4 (patch for this version available)

Looking at CWP, it looks like it has version 2.9.1.

ModSecurity for Apache/2.9.1 ( configured.

Anyone know if this is affected, or how to upgrade ModSecurity on CWP?

Has anyone setup IPv6 with Apache only with CWP on CentOS 8 yet?

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / CentOS 8 minor bug
« on: October 19, 2020, 03:33:32 PM »
On CentOS 8 even with current CWP

The panel gives:

Danger: Available updates - SECURITY ISSUE
CWP found 1 available yum/rpm updates for your server, click here to check it.

You run dnf update, and there are no updates, also none are listed if you click on the warning link.

Nothing major, but is kinda annoying.
