CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: Cronjob not added from user panel
« on: November 27, 2023, 04:27:59 AM »
This thread is odd, we've had no issues (knock on wood) with crons.
Either thru CPW or directly thru the CLI.

What OS's are you using where this is failing?

The life cycles for AlmaLinux are:

AlmaLinux 8.x   2029
AlmaLinux 9.x   2032

So installing CWP EL8 on AlmaLinux 8.x as @overseer mentioned is a safe bet for awhile.

Installation / Re: facing errors on CWP installation
« on: November 26, 2023, 01:00:34 AM »
CWP does NOT come with an 'uninstall' script. Never has.

It has some install and rebuild scripts in the /scripts directory, but that's about it.

Never was designed to be 'uninstalled'.

Even the Official CWP Wiki states this:
https://wiki.centos-webpanel.com/how-to-uninstall-cwp#:~:text=%2FLicense%20%2FHow%20to%20uninstall%20CWP%20%3F&text=CWP%20has%20no%20uninstaller%2C%20since,had%20it%20before%20cwp%20installation.

Please stop giving out false information @head223a
(Your whole 2 posts ever posted, have both been false.)

E-Mail / Re: setup only email
« on: November 24, 2023, 06:57:44 PM »
The mail server's main is the hostname, which has SSL.
So when you setup email accounts, for the mailserver you would use that hostname (e.g. srv1.servername.net)
Clients like Thunderbird should follow the A record, and find this.

Or you can try how we use to do thing, back when we had IIS & IMail.

Create an A record for mail.domain.name
In your MX record you will create, MX 0 mail.domain.name

On the CWP you are using for mail, create the domain name of mail.domain.name.

This will allow you to create a SSL for mail.
Only trick when they login to webmail, it will be user@mail.domain.name, instead of user@domain.name.

But I'm curious, if you have a CWP server running with the website, why not use that server for email?

E-Mail / Re: Problem sending from the server

First thing to check is to contact the upstream to make sure the SMTP port is open.
With some providers (like Vultr), all you have to do is request it via support ticket.

After that, install s-nail (dnf install s-nail), and try a test from the CLI:

echo "Example Message" | s-nail - s "A mail sent using s-nail" person@example.com

If you get the test, the SMTP port is open and everything should work.

You can NOT redo the CWP installation once done.
If you try CWP will fail giving you an error that it's already been installed.

Best bet in the original situation, was to do a fresh AlmaLinux 8 OS & CWP install using cwp-el8-latest.

You can you create it as normal, but just use the mail portion.
Just point the MX A record to the CWP server.

We have clients doing this.

PHP / Re: CWP falling behind with PHP. Again.
« on: November 24, 2023, 02:26:25 AM »
ionCube doesn't support 8.3.x yet either.

More of a FYI on that 8.3 has been released.

But PHP 8.1.x is 1 version behind, and PHP 8.2 is now 2 versions behind.

PHP 8.1.25 & 8.2.12 have been out since 2023-10-26

CWP has fallen a behind again. :(

Information / Re: Future of CWP?
« on: November 20, 2023, 06:43:31 PM »
It does for 2 reasons.

1. AlmaLinux is basically the free version of CloudLinux.
(Allot of developers work on both projects)

2. For some odd reason Rocky is missing some binaries.

Installation / Re: CentOS migration plan for 2024?
« on: November 17, 2023, 04:15:31 AM »
ionCube 13.0.2 supports PHP 8.2.x

But the coding form PH 7.1 to 7.3 isn't that different.
Allot would have to be re-written for 8.x, but would be better long term & for security.

Addons / Re: Cron on Nextcloud

wget downloads to linux.

Why are you running that in a cron to download cron.php?

I know 9 support is being worked on, and is being tested.
But for some reason they are going to still use PHP 7.4, instead of 8.1 or 8.2.

CentOS 7 Problems / Re: i can't log in the admin panel
« on: November 15, 2023, 05:49:27 PM »
CWP uses it's own server form Admin (cwpsrv), not the Web Server used for sites.
Make sure this is running via the CLI.

Can you please advise of the following:

What 'errors' and/or 'messages' are being displayed?

What distro are you using?

VPS or Dedicated?

Specs?
