hello

is there any way to redirect blocked visitor ip from firewall to something.tld/you-are-blocked.html rather than just unable to connect ?

Backup / Re: BUG? Backup BETA vmail more than 2GB

You should also backup these DB for a more comprehensive backup of all client info and settings: oauthv2, root_cwp, postfix, postfix_policyd, roundcube

and that mean... do manually what should cwp does :D i will test it and take alook inside the sql

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: Error restore full backup cwp -> cwp
« on: February 08, 2023, 06:41:54 PM »
Remove leftover cruft that the migration API doesn't take care of automatically. It leaves vestiges behind, perhaps because the transfer might get interrupted. But then you have to come behind and clean up various temp dirs, esp. in the /home directory tree. But then, moving from cPanel brings along a lot of specific cPanel baggage that is not used with CWP, so you can remove all of THAT clutter as well...

make my brain exploded...  but... ty for the clue sir
i will try it to migrate vmail manually... at least i know that possible without changing the password

once again thankyou

**maybe i will ask some question in the future if i failed :D

Have you done a previous restoration attempt? Sometimes CWP doesn't clean up after itself well and you you have to manually clean up after it. I did after a cPanel -> CWP migration. A bit to clean up, for sure.
sorry to reply this

what u mean clean it manually ?

Yes, that sounds right. /var/vmail is Just a Bunch of Files (JBF) -- you can do whatever you want with them. ;)

omg... just like that?
i was thought i need to backup some vmail db or something....

overall
it just folder

all i need only copy the parent client's folder

You don't need to know any user's login info -- just run the operation and reverse it back if you have have a failure or data loss. E-mails are just atomic files owned by vmail:mail -- you don't need to authenticate as the user to read them or rsync them offsite. You can gzip/compress in transit and also at rest on the target drive if you need it be smaller. I have enough disk space on the target to not need compression.

sorry im not that pro
but... in other word

i just can ZIP (or tar :D ) the /var/vmail
and the zip (archive) file can be unzip/untar (extracted) any time...
with condition to chown the owner back for each client email parent folder?

Sure, you can do whatever you want "behind its back". The /var/vmail directory is owned by vmail:mail, so you just recursively set those permissions if you need to.

just need to zip /vmail then that include all info.. user login password and entire email ?

manual backup = SCP or rsync (nothing to do with the web-based control panel).

it can restore the /vmail without changing password ?

Other / Re: Create new disk (home2) because /home is full
« on: January 31, 2023, 02:30:10 PM »
You can mount other storage (block devices) in the filesystem manually with the mount command, then automate it with /etc/fstab. So on your additional storage, you could make that be dedicated to a large user account and mount it at /home/biguser (after moving the current home to the side: /home.biguser.temp). Then move their stuff from the temp named directory to the new /home/biguser directory.

Or you could implement something in user space with FUSE.

This is just a large overview sketch, as the devil is in the implementation details -- and that's up to you!

mid-risk failure i think... hmmm better to setup /home at another partition from beginning :( (I think)

This a good reason for manual backups. I use rsync to backup /var/vmail to another server offsite, but you could use it to backup mail locally to the same disk in another location.

manual backup?

you mean backup3 beta with manual action

or backup that have many option (the other backup) ?

Information / Re: Install or download older version of CWP?
« on: January 31, 2023, 02:26:40 PM »
That's just to download the old version via cURL. I suppose if you want to stop updates, you could set the CWP update server(s) as 0.0.0.0 in the /etc/hosts file.
hmmm
noted... thx for the clue

If you insist ;)
Code: [Select]
curl -O http://static.cdn-cwp.com/files/cwp/el7/cwp-el7-0.9.8.1146.zip

this command still valid  for all version? (ignore vulner)

i think cwp now "auto" update

I think you would have to do a virtual filesystem for what you are proposing to do...
any clue about that?
i want to upgrade my space too (like OP) but i dont want move all /home
i just think to add /home2 at new ssd/storage drive so if i not need them i can reduce the size or delete it... because i can upgrade space but i cant downgrade space
