Apache not running after rebuild from 2.4.39 to 2.4.46
« on: November 27, 2020, 10:41:45 PM »
Please guide me what I should do now to get back to the normal situation (before update it was ok).

I rebuilt apache from 2.4.39 to 2.4.46 and after that, my domain shows 500 Internal and then 502 Bad Gateway as Apache Webserver are not started/ running.

I followed: http://forum.centos-webpanel.com/index.php?topic=137.0

What I did (till the end)
Action 1:
- WebServer Settings-> Apache ReBuild: I rebuilt Apache from 2.4.39 to 2.4.46

After apache rebuild completion (checked in SSH) to 'rebuild virtual host':
(main domain was not accessible)

Action 2:
- WebServer Settings-> WebServers Main Conf: Save Changes (with Rebuild all vhost so save))
(main domain was not accessible)

Action 3:
- WebServer Settings-> WebServer Domain Conf: Configuration 'Save Change' (with ReBuild WebServer Conf For Domain on Save)
(main domain was not accessible)

Action 4:
- WebServer Setting - Select WebServers: select NGINX & APACHE (as before) and Save & ReBuild Configuration.
(main domain was not accessible)
And Repeat Action 2

try to rebuild apache again and then rebuild webservers from cwp if that fails then you would need to contact cwp support
VPS & Dedicated server provider with included FREE Managed support for CWP.
http://www.studio4host.com/

*** Don't allow that your server or website is down, choose hosting provider with included expert managed support for your CWP.

Still, apache is not running and I can't make it to run. Anything can we do before from support team?

Can CWPpro be an easier process for this restoration as quoted in this article: https://www.mysterydata.com/install-latest-apache-version-in-cwp-control-web-panel/

* I did the rebuild again:

Apache rebuilding is completed as per SSH command (i rebuilding apache and webserver - as mentioned in above actions):

SSH Command--------------- # tail -f /var/log/apache-rebuild.log
[PRESERVING EXISTING ICONS SUBDIR: /usr/local/apache/icons]
[PRESERVING EXISTING CGI SUBDIR: /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin]
Installing header files
Installing build system files
Installing man pages and online manual
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/apache-build/httpd-2.4.46'
Apache Rebuild Completed
-----------------------------------------

While starting apache in CWP->Dashboard, it shows warning message as follows:

Job for httpd.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status httpd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

Sharing the 'Latest Log Waning Status', 'latest Journal Output' and 'latest tail log var-log-messages' files in above Google Drive link for reference.

Now, the apache has started and running after rebuilding Apache again (with below actions).
And domain and subdomains are opening in browser.

 :) :) :) It Looks Good Again :) :) :)

Earlier, except subdomains, mydomain.com shows 500 Internal Server Error message:
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

Action taken:
- Again did the earlier actions
- deleted line 4: SecRuleRemoveById 981172 from /usr/local/apache/conf/userdata/userlal/lalelal.me/modsec.conf:
- Reload DNS Zone from DNS Function->List DNS Zones section
- .htaccess file of mydomain.com was missing </IfModule>
