Title: CentOS 7 & CentOS Stream 8 EOL - Being Archived
Post by: Starburst on June 03, 2024, 06:33:26 PM
It is an FYI that CentOS Stream 8 repos are starting to be archived.
If you happen you start receiving errors while running yum/dnf update, and are using these, you might start receiving errors.

CentOS 7 repos have already started shutting down.
The 'Official' EOL when RH will archive it is 2024-06-30

If you don't need ionCube or need to use the MySQL Manager GUI, AlmaLinux 9 (currently 9.4) is what we have started using.

But CWP IS still in beta on this version.

Off course we need MySQL Manager GUI, yes?
Node JS is also starting show problems in Centos 7.
VPS seller like Contabo is now not giving Centos 7 also.

We should now think new OS as an alternative.

CWP officially not give new update yet.

They have for awhile.

CWP and AlmaLinux 8 work fine together.

And AlmaLinux offers a program called ELevate to switch from CentOS 7 to AlmaLinux 8.
