CWP as internal server in local network.
« on: September 12, 2017, 07:44:27 AM »
Hi,

It came that finaly we have a some time in our company to tidy up the mess on our dev server which is also public with some projects to the rest of the co-workers from other departments. I wanted to use CWP as a panel to setup:

1. Server in local network with IP 192.168.0.X which is not accesible from outside.
2. Want to create a main account which will resolve to domain for ex. example.work
3. Want to create subdomains like dev.work and test.work

Is it possible to setup local domains in my local network for accounts and to be accesible via those?

Best regards.

this is normal setup so you shouldn't have any issues with it...you will only need to have internet access to install cwp.

Hello,

If it wouldn't be kinda hard to understand for me I would never write here.

Problem is that I don't know how to setup:

- nameservers - right now there are:
 a) NS1: ns1.centos-webpanel.com
 b) NS2: ns2.centos-webpanel.com

- server ip - right now it is:
 a) Server IP: 192.168.0.114 | opony.local

- hostname - right now it is:
 a) Hostname: srv1.opony.local

And also with Apache configuration to make it opony.local working and same for it subdomains like dev.opony.local etc. or even for other local domains like test.local

May I use your help sir?

Best regards.

you don't need to setup nameservers if you don't want to use CWP as your private nameservers.

All related with your domain in the private network depends on your local resolver so you need to check your local dns resolvers and there configure records for .local domain

If you have DSL modem then you probably need to create dns records there
