Doing the ELevate process on a production server scares me a bit, i have never done it (in the past i always have setup a new server with a newer OS every 6-8 years and migrated the sites/emails from one server to the other)
Right now i have been stagnating on Centos7, paying for the extended support, because i'm not sure if i should wait for AL9 or go to AL8 and again in 3-4 years do an other migration...
It's better to setup a new server.
ELevate could leave some ghosts in the system.
AL8 is good with security updates until 2029-05-31
AL9 is active until 2027-05-31, with security updates until 2032-05-31
And AL10,
IF CWP version ever gets that version going, is active until 2030-05-31, and security updates until 2035-05-31
https://wiki.almalinux.org/release-notes/Seems like CWP main problem is they are still trying to support the older obsolete OS'es like CentOS 7 and PHP versions.
That seems to be holding back the needed development for the new OS'es that is needed.
They need to kill CentOS 7 support, it's been long enough past EOL and work on AL9 and AL10.
Other control panels have done this, and some have AL10 versions out or coming out soon.
While CWP is stuck on CentOS 7 and AL8.
[End of rant, I apologize]
