Title: So what's the verdict on AlmaLinux?
Post by: deasoft on May 12, 2023, 11:18:33 AM
I'm considering purchasing a license to test CWP out, but I still aren't clear on whether it is fully stable on AlmaLinux?

Are people running this on AlmaLinux in a production environment?

Thanks

for what it costs, get the pro license and have a play. most people on Alma + CWP so it works with a few small issues.

AlmaLinux is my plan for when CentOS 7.9 goes fully EOL in 2024. Others have said it is generally very stable, has good migration, and is less "rocky" than some other distributions... ;)

i am going to do a test migration because I want native HTTP/2 support without having to do a workaround.

I created a VPS with Almalinux 8 a few days ago. Installed CWP (free), customized it according to my requirements (replaced suPHP by FastCGI/FCGI to enable multi PHP setup, installed rspamd, compiled custom kernel, etc, etc, etc) and it is going fine.

Currently I am investigating how to fix the problem with FFMpeg because the option offered by CWP causes error during the compilation.

However, it looks very promising for me (even a free version).
