home office use.
« on: August 08, 2015, 08:09:26 PM »
Hello, I run a web-hosting business and just love what you all are doing here. I really do hope that this project becomes the next big web control panel.

Anyways, what I'm needing to ask is it possible to host websites using this control panel on a home network. for example I have a old desktop that I could install centos 6.6 onto.

Would it be difficult to run websites on it, even with it connected to a home router.

If you can install it on a VPS or dedicated server then of course.
Do note that if you do want any of the services on it to be publicly accessible (over the internet) then you'll need to do port forwarding. And you'll need to make sure that your IP is made static.

the most important thing is static ip and then upload bandwidth....
but todayvps servers are very cheap, you can get it for 5$ and cwp is free.

Not sure id use an old pc for customers sites , irrespective of the cpanel you use , but for testing it's the boss (-; and for live hosting from within a DC it's the super boss, you'll be very happy using CWP
