New installation Centos7 problems
« on: March 08, 2020, 03:37:47 PM »
Good morning all,

I recently found out about CWP and wanted to give it a try, I am fairly newer to webhosting/server administration so please bear with me. I successfully installed this onto a VM on one of my servers. I got everything working (webpanel, ports forwarded, domain pointed to the proper IP). When I type my domain in, I get an unable to connect to server error on firefox. When I type my WAN IP into the bar I do get the CWP test page. Why can I not connect to my website when typing in the domain? I haven't configured anything more than the basics.

Also how do I go about adding content to my websites? Thanks!

Did you update the DNS records? Did you update the A record of your domain to point to server IP?

Kindly update the A record so that site can run from your CWP server. Remember that you will surely have a test page when you open server IP because its a multi domains structure.

What do you mean? I already have the A record pointed to my WAN ip, and then its port forwarded to the webserver?????

Sounds like you haven't assigned the IP at your DNS Registrar.
Test with http://leafdns.com
http://whois.net will tell you who your Registrar is, in case you don't know.

This concerns me: a NAT environment or dedicated IP? Your reference to port forwarding suggests a NAT = can of worms, unless well versed. The question regarding web content implies that you aren't.
