No way to backup CWP settings?
« on: February 28, 2017, 01:40:16 PM »
Currently using/testing CWP for school use. Had to migrate all "experiments" off school servers so kids could actually learn and not worry about mistakes.

So my question: there is no way to backup CWP settings? Like to have a template so when creating new VPS can cut down on setup time.

We may setup 2-3 VPS a week and really time consuming setting up CWP on each.

backup database for cwp.

Sounds easy, but is there not any documentation for doing this?

Now I see. Just could not grasp using phpmyadmin. I will give that a try.

Thank you!

My greetings!. By the way, I have read an article concerning this issue. It says, that
cdn services
is far better and more consistent than usual web-hosting.
I wanted to ask how reliable these systems are?
both have their own places :)

Hi,

I know this is an old topic but it is still valid.

I would like to see an option in the GUI to backup the servers settings and it would be better if this could be made part of the 'NEW Backup beta'. Perhaps where you select 'By account' or 'Per Package' you could have another option called 'Server Settings'

To backup I would have to goto (CWP Admin --> SQL Services --> phpMyAdmin) and export the tables root_cpmigrations and root_cwp.

Questions

  • I am not sure about root_cpmigrations, Does this need backing up or is it a temporary holding location?
  • Do we not need to backup the folder /etc/ aswell for all the other plugin/package settings?
  • Is there anything else that needs backing up?

A wiki article would be great :)

Thanks
