ok was running 0.9.8.154 got the update message, followed http://forum.centos-webpanel.com/centos-6-problems/centos6-upgrade/
Panel upgrades, but httpd won't start but work out it's due to apache 2.2 config file, so use the restore option, delete the config file run the script again all good.
I log out of the control panel and try to log back in, nothing won't let me log on now. I can ssh and root account work, I can change my root password and ssh still works, but CWP just will not log me on as root.
I notice the url is different previsously it was :2030/login.php now it :2030/login/login.php?
from cat /var/log/cwp_client_login.log
root Failed Login from: x.x.x.x on: http://x.x.x.x:2030/login/index.php?login=failed

Interestingly I can log on as a user account just not root, but the root account is fine for ssh

so change my password to a really short simple password and it now works, but use a long complex one it fails, is there character limit?
