private sll for host name
« on: May 06, 2020, 11:33:35 PM »
Hi, I am sure many many people are experiencing an issue with let's encrypt SSL for host.

as it stands that Is the only way for people to add an SSL for the hostname.

I am stuck here my self. t just does not work as it should.

is there a way so I can add my own SSL for the host as I have a private SSL for the hostname so that I can use it to rid any error in getting the certificate especially to many times issued when it hasn't worked.

can I edit the self-signed cert and add these details

ca bundle
cert
private key

to make them all private so the host has SSL works

if there is a way can you please explain for the dummies to do this as from reading this forum many would lie to now how to do this I certainly want to know how to install a custom SSL on hostname step by step, please.

thanks in advance if anyone can tell me how to do this correctly as if you can many many users will read this post I am sure.

I found this information but its outdated and not working anymore on the current version.

Manually or custom certificate

You can also manually replace certificate with your own certificate
ssl_certificate with bundle (if any): /etc/pki/tls/certs/hostname.crt
ssl_certificate_key: /etc/pki/tls/private/hostname.key

It will work, however you need to run "systemctl restart cwpsrv" afterwards to reload the configuration

these files don't exist in the directorys above

if hostname.crt doesn't exists, look for the FQDN of your server .crt  (EX: srv1.centos-webpanel.com.crt/.key)

every time I try to do I take the server down lol. just can't get it to do it.

if I can only install my SSL on host I will be so happy you would not believe it.

might be my experience level but I tired. I cant get SSL mail without an SSL on the hostname. my site requires it to be SSL so I am well and truly stuck. as I can't count the number of times I have tried to get lets encrypt to install on the host and it just won't do it.

if anyone out there thinks they can do I would seriously appreciate so much if they could get it to work without taking down the sever and having to reinstall it
