Two domains showing up
« on: May 03, 2019, 07:30:17 AM »
Hi everyone,

After setting up CWP, every time I go to any of the configuration parts, like DNS for example, it shows two domain options, with WWW and without.

I'm afraid that something is not right since some of the configuration are maybe being applied to one and not the other.

Is this ok, or should I remove one of the options?
If so, where or what is the best way to do this?

Thank you.

Clarifying: basically it shows the same domain twice, with and without www

Hi,

It shows when I login with a user account, and go to DNS functions > DNS zone editor:

https://snag.gy/OLimDh.jpg

So all the DNS configurations are on the domain with www.
When I visit the website without www it doesn't work, so I'm wondering if I should copy all the DNS stuff over, but that doesn't seem to be correct also.

Thanks

Hello

have you added an additional domain with www?

no, I went to the main (root) panel, and added a new account with a domain.
Then went to the user account and configured it.

Then I saw that the website was not working without the www, so after investigating I saw that there was no dns propagation for the domain without www, and voila.

You should remove the domain with www from additional domains, so everything will be fine again!

there is only one domain

I guess I will need to delete it and restart everything again.

You have installed an additional domain.
We're thinking you've installed an account, and after that, you've installed this additional domain.

Therefore, in theory, the exclusion of the additional domain should to run the already installed account domain.
But if your account domain is not working, you should check your apache logs to find out the problem. (/usr/local/apache/logs/error_log)

Additional domain removed.
Nothing works anymore.

I removed the user account and created a new one.

On my domain registrar I've corrected create ns1.domain.com and ns2 pointing to my server IP.

On the server I've defined the ns >> https://snag.gy/O58m2P.jpg

I login to the user account, go to the DNS part and I see this https://snag.gy/urPQvn.jpg

If I do a NS lookup it says they cannot find the NS of my website, therefore not working.

Could you please help to solve this?

Thank you

Just use CWP support or ask some competent sysadmin to check that.
It is too simple to fix, but too hard  to explain ;)
