MySQL 5.6
« on: December 01, 2015, 06:17:45 PM »
Hi all,

Currently running: CWP version: 0.9.8.10
Want to mess around with magento 2.0.
This requires MySQL 5.6.
Currently i am running: MySQL version: 5.1.73

Is there a safe way to upgrade to MySQL 5.6?

[edit]
Found some other questions about this on here.
Seems with centos 6 it doesn't go any further as MySQL 5.5?
The other option is to update MariaDB till version 10?

Alright.. do not use this:
http://mysqlserverteam.com/mysql-yum-repositories/

Or CWP will be full with errors like:
Code: [Select]
Warning: mysql_connect(): No such file or directory in /usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/admin/index.php(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code on line 2
mysqld is stopped

Trying to start mysql server, please wait!
Try to restart CentOS Web Panel with command: service cwpsrv restart

**Check your MySQL root password in: /usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/admin/include/db_conn.php and /root/.my.cnf

Could not connect: No such file or directory

:D

No clue how, but managed to upgrade mysql 5.1 till 5.7 as i said before (was 5.7, i went a bit to high)..
This update totally failed.
Took a bit of time, but got mysql 5.5 running now.
Only 1 database totally got corrupted.
Will try to upgrade to 5.6/5.7 later on =]

What problem you are facing now?
I managed to upgrade to 5.6 without any major problems (except pure-ftpd is not working anymore)
