Possible NginX Bug in CWP7
« on: May 01, 2017, 04:17:07 AM »
Has anyone managed to get Apache+NginX to run on CWP7?

When we attempt to install Apache+NginX or Apache+NginX+Varnish Cache it fails. The error log (/var/log/nginx/error.log) states:

2017/05/01 02:30:07 [emerg] 27443#27443: bind() to 0.0.0.0:80 failed (98: Address already in use)

As NginX should be running on Port 82 in this configuration I suspect a bug. We never had problems on CWP6 with this, so if anyone has CWP7 running with NginX can you confirm it isn't a bug so we know for sure? Thanks.

Hi robbyq, I should have given more info. We did try that before I posted. When we killed Apache, neither Apache nor NginX would start. When we restarted the server, Apache restarted, but no NginX, and our test website was unreachable (Unknown Host). LeafDNS and IntoDNS both showed the DNS resolving correctly.

As far as I can tell this is only an issue in LXC VPS. We have CWP7 with Apache+NginX+Varnish Cache running fine in KVM and on dedicated servers. It's probably not an CWP7 bug, but a LXC bug. Anyway we'll just stick to KVM for now.

If anyone gets CWP7 running with Apache+NginX in an LXC VPS please update this thread so we know it works.

don't forget to rebuild vhosts after making webserver changes.
If this issue continues after rebuild of vhosts then stop all webservers and check if some of them is stuck and then kill it manually.

You can check the list of process in cwp and kill it from there, after that restart the services/webservers.
