CWP to CWP Website Migration - Unexpected Syncing Behavior
« on: December 06, 2024, 12:04:22 PM »
I recently hired a technician to migrate my website from one CWP server to another CWP server. After the migration was completed a few days ago, I've noticed an unusual synchronization issue: when I upload a file to the old server, it appears almost immediately on the new server.

Details:
Both servers are running CWP
Migration was performed using CWP migration tools
Files uploaded to the original server automatically appear on the new server

My Questions:
Is this automatic file synchronization a standard feature of CWP migration?
Could this indicate an unintended connection between the two servers?
What steps should I take to ensure my website's data integrity and security?

I'm concerned about potential data management and security implications of this automatic file mirroring. Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

CWP doesn't have some option to sync user data between the servers automatically. It can be configured manually. Anyway, it is better to contact the guy who moved the data for you and ask if he enabled traffic forwarding or FS synchronization, etc.
