mail gets sent from srv.hostname.com and not smtp.example.com

I have CWP Pro installed with CentOS 7 and my hostname is, say, srv.hostname.com

I"ve added a website example.com and have set up MX, mail and SMTP in the DNS.

I can send a mail from my email client (Thunderbird) via smtp.example.com but the mail is received from the mailserver srv.hostname.com rather than smtp.example.com. I"m worried about spam filters.

Does anyone now any good resources on a fix. I've spent the last hour trying to Google fixes but I can't even find the right question to ask.

hi check the Thunderbird email settings if it is misconfigured
