DNS zone with DNS records - where?
« on: January 28, 2025, 09:39:17 AM »
Hi,

When I purchased the domains (from my provider) I set DNS records, the CWP also creates a DNS zone with DNS records, in the user panel there is also a similar function DNS zone with DNS records - do records need to be created everywhere? If so, what do I get?

If you manage the DNS from your provider, you only need to copy the dkin, spf1 and DMARC1 records from your cwp to your provider so that the emails do not arrive as spam, everything else is managed from your provider.

Hi,

I will try to use:

"Postfix Mail Server Manager" in order to activate and use the following:

AntiSpam/AntiVirus (recommended): ClamAV, Amavis & Spamassassin, Requires 2Gb+ RAM
rDNS Check (recommended): Drop all emails if no rDNS/PTR
Install DKIM & SPF (recommended): Installs DKIM & SPF, enables DKIM for New Accounts and Domains

In this case for which domains will it be installed and activated DKIM & SPF?

And "copy the dkin, spf1 and DMARC1 records from your cwp to your provider" - where exactly should I copy them from and for each domain?

Your going to get an error when you try & rebuild, again, since you have ClamAV & Amavis disabled and removed.

rDNS is checking incoming emails for a valid rDNS/PTR, I"ve found allot of people don't have that configured, or is misconfigured, so I leave it unchecked.

But you do want OpenDKIM to generate you signatures, and then you can copy them from the CWP server over to whomever you use for a DNS.
