Installation / Re: CentOS Stream Support
« on: December 10, 2020, 03:05:31 PM »
In case of requirement, cwp will also probably bring delayed repository from centos 8 RR which will be used as a stable version and this will be managed from CWP allowing you to switch on CentOS RR or stable/delayed repositories from CWP, so those already on CentOS 8 don't need to get panic

Information / Re: Your server is NOT running CWP Secure Kernel !!!
« on: November 04, 2020, 05:16:41 PM »Any update on this. At least to suppress that specific alert message. We are using KernelCare as support provided installation instructions. We don't need a daily alert regarding CWP Secure Kernel.
KernelCare is for kernel patches only and not security rules, CWP kernel is specific with specific access rules for php, apache, nginx, cron, users and many more....
It works in a simple way that we specify all that is secure for some application to do and all other is denied and that provides the highest security possible.
For example, if someone hacks one of your websites then it can spread malware over other accounts or even start some custom php/cgi scripts to connect to other servers and do ddos attacks or coin mining. With CWP kernel users can't run any custom tool and even can't access any system files regardless of the server file permissions. In the CWP kernel, each file access is defined even for read/write/execute rules which are not related to file specified permissions in the filesystem, and that provides the highest security as users have a limited set of commands they can run and a limited set of files they can access with different access as read/write/execute...and all this defined per application your server is using.
Not these rules have several thousands of lines that were tested over several years so this security can't be compared to any other as this was strictly developed for CWP.
The goal is to have it released for all cwppro users but for now, it's covering only servers with support as there is a very big interest in it and we are very busy with it. Notifications are set to once a month.

Information / Re: CWP Secure CentOS Kernel
« on: October 21, 2020, 02:18:05 PM »
cwp kernel is the best-integrated security option out there, it's similar to some of the options from SELinux/AppArmor/CloudLinux so running a shared hosting with many accounts without it is risking that one hacked account can compromise others.
If you know anything about the security of shared hosting then you wouldn't write this kind of nonsense after reading info about what kind of protection it has. The kernel is well tested on the big servers and running many shared hosting servers some having more than 1000 accounts.
In the instructions, it's visible that it's available only to servers with an active support service.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: PLEASE, CWP get your act together - Warning to everyone else!
« on: November 03, 2019, 06:36:54 PM »
all issues have been resolved a very long time.
But what we can say that they were terrible in the communication since the last request was from cwp side and they responded that they don't have time.

Updates / Re: 502 error for websites hosted on CWP.
« on: October 09, 2019, 12:26:08 PM »
please read this info, if you want to use something custom then use custom location which is not in use by cwp.
cwp is not owning /opt, but cwp installation location which has an additional path is used only by cwp and no other software is using it.

you can point your domain ns2.example.com to slave dns and then you can use that or you can use default which is provided by cwp.
