Installation / First time user, I made a wrong turn... I think...
« on: December 03, 2015, 07:21:17 AM »
so I just installed CentOS got the mysql root password setup, then did all the update, then installs for CWP...
Its "working" but somewhere along the time I screwed up on the IP Addresses I guess....
I setup a test account, and the mydomain.com is serving the web page as expected.
I have ftp working, but when I upload my files to my test account mydomain.com, those files are not being served, so I think somehow I added my main domain to the root account instead of my test hosting account.
so the main issues,
I have never ran a DNS before, just edit records and point to name servers.
so it seems what I'm looking at is I have my own DNS going. My main domain is with go daddy, so dose that mean I point the name servers to my system, or the ns1.centos-webpanel.com? that way I can manage my own sub domains?
second issue I have is the mail box, its showing my local network IP address for the login, thats fine for testing, but it needs to me accessible from the public IP correct?
I'm using a single public IP at the moment, and its being port forwarded to my web server, the web server at the moment is configured with a single IP address.
I'm going to try and read over some things again and see if I missed something during the install. I have nothing but time spent on this server, so a re-installation if needed is not an issue.
thanks,
Nate_Bro
