DNS / Re: How to setup DNS & Nameserver?
« on: May 21, 2019, 10:39:21 AM »
Nameserver are supposed to be two completely separate instances with different ipaddresses.
Using only one ns is going to cause you problems...don't bother with ns, just point an A record for each domain registrar at your server ipaddress. Leave the dns to the registrar...it is far simpler. Obviously if you plan on hosting for clients, you will then need nameservers (but you would then ensure you have at least 2 usually 3 of them.)

« on: May 20, 2019, 12:12:57 PM »
Hi guys,
i have recently run a CWP update...what is causing the User Control Panel File Manager to look like this?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oX3WRwaXPRs667NbU2JDxVaCQIkEglBm/view?usp=sharing
what happened to the nice user control panel file manager i had before the update?

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / User Control Panel Logout Button often does not work
« on: May 18, 2019, 11:47:16 PM »
I am repeatedly experiencing this problem...clearly something is wrong in the code.
The user control panel "Logout" button often does not work. I have tried refreshing the google chrome web browser and it makes no difference. The only way to resolve this is to close the browser and open it again.
This is unnacceptable for users...i get complaints all over the place about this, it needs to be fixed so it funcitons as expected!
Test, Test, Test, Test, Test (Understand the importance of THOROUGHLY testing these things?)
My suggestion would be to do more Beta releases to a prescribed list of testers (and it needs to be a wide variety of user types from inexperienced to experienced...Dont just test using professionals as the time. That is a foolish philosophy!)
In the mean time, can someone bloodwell fix this...this is the only control panel i have used out of ISPConfig, Virtualmin, Vesta, Cyberpanel, where this ever happens (and on this one, it happens all the flaming time!)

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Re: Blesta Module Suspended/Cancelled CWP User Account. How do i override this?
« on: May 18, 2019, 06:37:38 AM »
The Blesta Module is not communicating with CWP via the API anymore.
Until i get that sorted i can provide much insight.
I am actually changing back over to WHMCS anyway. It has far greater functionality and is a lot better supported (in terms of technical knowledge and support staff numbers)

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Re: Security - Hide all processes
« on: May 18, 2019, 06:30:56 AM »
I have the same problem...annoying true.
I have clicked on this thing dozens of times and without fail, out of the blue it has changed status either to temporary, or disabled!
Having said that, i do like the feature...just wish it worked properly. I guess in time it will get sorted, and there are far worse issues that im concerned about that i would like fixed well before this one!

E-Mail / Re: Unable to deliver message after multiple retries, giving up
« on: May 17, 2019, 11:18:11 PM »
The following message is of interest to me...
result on intodns.com return with 1 eror (Some of your DNS servers do not have A records at all)
What nameservers are you using and exactly...your own or just pointing A records at your cwp.domain.com?
If using you own nameservers, how have you configured the ns1and ns2 glue record and A record information for each at your registrar?

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Centos-Web Panel Directory Structure Not Alphabetical
« on: May 17, 2019, 11:08:37 PM »
Is there an answer to this? A non functional meams of alphbetically sorting folders and files is a must in centos-webpanel file manager. I will keep bumping it to top so it ranks highly on Google searches.

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Re: Wordpress Duplicator Zip archive upload complete...but where is the file?
« on: May 17, 2019, 11:04:45 PM »
Why do I need to do that? centos web panel is saying that upload is completed
Are you saying that the uploader is not capable of uploading 100mb size files? If there is such a problem wouldn't it be wise to at least have that notification somewhere?

Updates / Re: So much update errors last days: Last one, I lost webmail
« on: May 16, 2019, 09:08:24 AM »
I accept that, however, in all honesty, do these "developers" understand the meaning of the word "test"?
Testing requires backwards and forwards compatibility checks on a wide variety of systems. If CWP doesnt have the resources to do that, then they need to first release betas so that the community can do the testing for them (it is the only way).
Also, I am a Virtualmin user. I have been running Virtualmin for more than 2 years. It is by far one of the most stable and well tested control platforms on the opensource market today. My only reason for persisting with CWP is the aesthetics of the user interface (you guys have at least got that right). However, as far as stability, functionality goes...CWP falls far short of Virtualmin. Admittedly time in the market does make a difference, however, some of the issues with CWP are issues that simply should not happen in todays market. They should follow well documented standards but do not for some reason only known to the developers.
If i didnot know better, i would say that a very large proportion of CWP problems come about as a direct result of attempting to protect intellectual property in a manner that is very poorly thought out and implemented. One either has to go the whole hog and employ a massive number of staff and follow cpanel, or otherwise open the code up to the open source community for assistance in development. Using Ioncube to encode everything dumps everyone in the shit when your programmers cock up!

Information / Re: addon domain temporary url not working
« on: May 16, 2019, 08:48:39 AM »
Hi Igor,
no i cannot do that...this is a temporary URL.
Access has to be by ipaddress/`user/public_html/addon-domain.com
No a little research and i have found the following...
if an addon domain is located in a subfolder in the website root ...ie public_html/
the htaccess file that is found in the public_html also controls the addon domain as well as the primary domain website. So solution to this as far as i know, is to locate the addon domain outside of public_html/
So the normal way this is done is to have the following structure...
/home/user
-/public_html/primary website/
-/domains/addon-domain/
-/etc/
-/logs/
-/fcgi-bin/
If it is done using the above outlined structure, then the primary domain htaccess file does not impact on the addon domain websites.
So, how can i change CWP so that it organises addon domains outside the public_html/web root directory as shown above (and as is used by other control panels)?
Otherwise, i need to modify the htaccess file to run two wordpress installations in the web root?
At present, the only solution to this that i see is to use Wordpress multisite!
