CentOS 6 Problems / Re: Unable to log in to the user panel when the file system is locked.

Did you lock it from user login or as root? (I haven't used this function so not offering a solution just asking for my own benefit)

Have you run an mxrecord check and smtp test?
Goto mxtoolbox.com and do that to ensure dns is resolving and that the smtp server is functioning correctly.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: User-Panel Subdomain Uppercase vs lowercase

Is that bad?
WWW.domain.com isn't exactly normal.
Also, if I remember correctly, email ignores capitals.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: User Control Panel Logout Button often does not work
« on: October 23, 2019, 02:06:27 PM »
I have been trying to determine under whwt conditions this happens (because it seems intermittent.
On mine, if I leave the user panel sit idle for a while...it does this. Sometimes if I am logged into user panel for a long time...it does this. It's weird...almost like chrome doesn't like the particular command cwp is sending to log out of clients user panel? (Which I think is like # isn't it?

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: addon wordpress install and php version change
« on: October 23, 2019, 01:57:36 PM »
Last time I tried using WordPress script, the installer still wasn't working with database password...so one would have to go in and manually fix it. Has that now been resolved? Also, password reset for it in cwp was not working either.

Dovecot / Re: Dovecot IMAP/POP3 email server

You have too many levels of symbolic links...it's stuck in a loop. I did read on cpanel forum that centos 7.7 has a problem with this https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/ups-177-service-failures-after-centos-7-7-update.659933/
If that is your version and you are on a vps, you might need to look at "Workaround 2"
Note the comment by cpanel themselves...

Can Workaround 2 be used for MySQL?
SpamAssassin is used as the example, but the steps are applicable to any service that's failing as a result of this issue.
Thank you."

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: addon wordpress install and php version change
« on: October 23, 2019, 11:19:21 AM »
Actually I was logged into a new clients cpanel on Siteground this morning and I saw a warning that even php7.1 is no longer support as of a day or so ago...so one needs a minimum 7.2 now. Anyone still using php5.6 shouldn't.
In terms of this problem...I have zero faith in the CWP WordPress script...it's never worked for me, so I just do one of the following
Install from " Installatron Remote" which is a good solution if you can get it working with CWP. Or,
Install WordPress manually (which is dead easy to be honest (5 minutes)
I haven't checked ioncube version on my cwp pro. I just assumed it was latest version. I will be pretty disappointed if it's still one that old that it requires php5.6.

SSL / Re: AutoSSL not working
« on: October 23, 2019, 11:00:11 AM »
I am getting confused at what you are writing here...which host record is that...each system has its own...not one for both. Is that for your desktop PC (I am assuming it is but if so, why use third party DNS, you would be over riding dns with the hosts file on desktop PC...see why I'm confused?)
This is how it has to work...
1. At your domain registrar create 2 "A records"
www.domain.com - A record - ipaddress 1.1.1.1
Domain.com - A record - ipaddress 1.1.1.2
This has to resolve both domains to their respective unique hosts/virtual host's (different hosts/systems/or unique ipaddresses)
2. On each system, set letsencrypt to only obtain SSL for what is on that system...see following url for some guidance on how Certbot can be used for this https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/single-certificate-for-sub-domains-pointing-to-different-ip-addresses/21764/6
I haven't done this in CWP, but it does work with other control panels.
There "was" a catch with lets encrypt in that your domains had to be public...https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/private-domains-nat-and-lets-encrypt/61362/2

Information / Re: CWP hogging RAM and Server Resources
« on: October 12, 2019, 10:28:05 AM »
1GB ram is not enough...i have run a few control panels and none of them like less than about 2GB if you are also using php for cms like Wordpress.
I also would advise to just run plain old apache or nginx on low memory systems...nothing fancy.
You also have to look at disabling anything that hogs resources.

How to / Resize Swap File
« on: October 05, 2019, 09:50:11 PM »
Is it better to resize a swap file or delete it and start again with CWP?
I have read that its easier in linux to delete it and create a new one. What are the issues that i should consider in CWP if planning on changing/ or deleting and recreating swap file?

nextcloud is a rip off anyway. "dislexia friendly font"..."client side encryption" ..."local storage" paying over 1000 euros a year for that spin, are you f'king kidding me???
I pay $17 AUD month for Office 365, get everything next cloud adverstise and a lot more! Even Adobe Creative Cloud is a better option for many online based businesses...
change to office 365 you would be far better off!

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Dashboard>Server Settings>Cron Tab for Users (expanding cron list disappearing)
« on: September 29, 2019, 07:39:31 AM »
Hi guys,
The expand option for crontabs is not working properly in Google Chrome Browser.
If i go to dashboard>Server Settings> Cron Tab For Users , and then click on the + to expand, the list displays only for a second before disappearing again.
I have screenshotted the expanded list immediately after clicking on the expander and a fraction of a second before the list disappears ...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D0inks7QFv3bCMOX50bsLzbPqxR5QqOb/view?usp=sharing
and the second image link shows the missing list "WITH" the expander enabled...

it appears that its possible to upgrade from redhat 7.6 to 8...so surely Centos 7 to 8 will also be doable?
