you will need to have them in the /home folder, however you can always add some symlinks to other paths....but you might have suPHP/suExec security issues then.

if this is a clean install of centos minimal then you shouldn't have mysql installed.
you can remove it by using yum remove mysql

With this kind of option and lower number of servers we can guarantee to fix any possible issue in a short period of time for all our clients.
If all goes well we expect to have it go public in 10-15 days from now.
