cwp is using pure-ftp only and not using it you will not have the full functionality of ftp.

you can use leafdns for live dns testing so you don't need to wait for dns cache updates

If you are using FreeDNS then you don't need any dns on your server.

this should be only your hostname and domain of the host no other domains!

For mail server logs try to rebuild the mail server and check the logs of it.
