I can access Roundcube email from the clients "client-domain.com/webmail" URL but I don't want that and it doesn't look professional.  I want the mail.client-domain.com or webmail.client-domain.com to work for my clients.  Has anyone got this to work properly?  Also, has anyone been able to connect a gmail account to a Roundcube mail account hosted under CWP?

Thanks,
Andrew

Not sure if this still applies to you.  But maybe it will apply properly to others.

NOTE: Replace [domain.com] with your actual domain name.

  • At your domain registrar create custom nameserver records ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com with the IP address of your server then set your name servers to ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com.
  • On your server in command shell set the hostname to webpanel.domain.com before you install CWP
  • Install CWP
  • On the server in CWP insure your name servers are set to ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com
  • On the server in CWP setup a DNS zone for ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com
ns1.domain.com contains NS records defined with values ns1.domain.com, ns2.domain.com and an A record ns1.domain.com = [server_ip], ns2.domain.com uses the same NS records as ns1 but defines an A record for ns2 rather and ns1.
  • On the server in CWP add a new user named [domain_name] and use as it's domain value your root domain [domain.com].  If you have properly set the name server value for CWP and DNS has propagated from your registrar then your DNS should start working properly and you should be able to secure the domain with a LetsEncrypt certificate.  If the IP does not resolve do not attempt to include a LetsEncrypt certificate at that time - wait until the DNS resolves properly and then add the Certificate.

Hope this helps anyone struggling with DNS setup.
Cheers.

E-Mail / GMailify not available for Postfix based email account.
« on: March 26, 2019, 04:04:02 PM »
I have a hosted domain with email account with which the users want to use GMailify.  CentOS 7 is fully updated and I'm using CWP PRO.  I can send and receive email using Roundcube with no problems.

When I attempt to link one of the Postfix email accounts to a GMail account using GMailify I get the following response from Gmail:
GMailify is not available for this provider.

Is this a standard problem with CWP or is it possibly a problem due to the rDNS and DMARK issues that remain?

Is it possible to link the accounts using GMailify?

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Re: Broken File Permissions after site upload
« on: February 11, 2019, 08:11:17 PM »
So I disabled mod_security for the user and suddenly the website works fine.

Why did this make a different?  Question is. Shouldn't I be using mod_security to security reasons?  How dp I fix the permission to make the Wordpress site compatible to mod_security?

Thanks.

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Broken File Permissions after site upload
« on: February 11, 2019, 08:04:11 PM »
All on a CentOS 7 Linode.

Created a new user with domain X.
Logged into Webpanel with account of user X.
Create MySQL Database and User, imported database exported from CPanel - OK!
Looged into FTP using FileZilla using credentials of user X
Uploaded Wordpress site (originally from cPanel) to the public_html folder of User X
Browsed website using Chrome and saw the wesbite front end.
Logged into the Wordpress site.

Attempted to use any Admin functionality - FAILED

Back in Webpanel as User X attempted top set permissions for files in public_html.

Wordpress site now completely broken with Permission error.

Log into Webpanel as root, Fix Account Permissions, selected nobody - fix, selected User X - fix.

Retest  Wordpress site - STILL broken with permissions error.

Suggestion? Help?
