Information / Re: CWP centos7 to CWP Almalinux 9 Migration Planned

I guess we need to read the warning on the tin:
https://control-webpanel.com/installation-instructions#step2
Quote
The best option in 2024 is still the AlmaLinux 8.
AlmaLinux 9 has some missing features and PHP versions are limited to PHP 7.4 or higher.  *EL9 is in beta stage

Yeah i did see that, but since we are almost in 2026 i was hoping for AL9 to be out of beta... Guess not...

Since from what i understand some of you are actually running AL9, is the migration the only broken thing?

Can you "manually" migrate an account by transfering a backup and restoring it?

Or do you need to do a "full manual" restore? (copy files, db, recreate settings, etc)

(I have some account that have like 200ftp accounts inside, so i would prefer not having to manually recreate those things)

Doing the ELevate process on a production server scares me a bit, i have never done it (in the past i always have setup a new server with a newer OS every 6-8 years and migrated the sites/emails from one server to the other)

Right now i have been stagnating on Centos7, paying for the extended support, because i'm not sure if i should wait for AL9 or go to AL8 and again in 3-4 years do an other migration...

Hi,
I am finally planning a migration from centos7 to a new server running hopefully AlmaLinux OS 9

But i read many posts on here saying that the automatic migration is not working on AL9, is that still the case?

I could go to AlmaLinux 8, but the EOL is only in 3 years, and i do not wish to migrate again so soon.

Also are there any news about AL10?

Thanks

Alex

Hi, I seem to be having similar problems (can receive but not send email with "Connection refused" error from postfix but if i connect via ssh to the server and telnet the same server i can connect...)

How exactly did you fix the problem?

Thanks
