CenturyLink does not offer static IP's as I found out through google.

The only way to get a static IP is to upgrade to a business plan which costs much more money, and you get less bandwidth.

CenturyLink is the worst

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the file manangement scripts borrowed from someone else like phpmyadmin and Roundcube are borrowed?

Neither studio4host nor admin has had anything of substance to say in response to the more difficult concerns raised in this thread.

ANY software on the internet is only as good as the vitality of the community support group.  On a scale of 1 - 10, I give this forum a solid 4! And I think that I am being generous with a 4.

Before you bring new things, you should think about fixing all the other things that dont work.  1,000s of posts are unanswered, for whatever reason.   All of the other categories besides the first category, receive very little attention by the developers.  Its very frustrating to come here and get no help.  There isnt much life in this forum.  Same old posters most of the time.  Studio4host has a pretty standard response that says "open a support ticket", for a fee.

Im not trying to encourage others to go somewhere else.  But I can see the handwriting on the wall.  The developers (if there is actually more than one) need to pay closer attention to the user community.  Right now, no one is listening.  If you would like, I could give a count of the unanswered bug reports since january 1.  My guess is it would be somewhere between 500 and 1000.

Thats a very big number for a small group of users.

If you think there are no bugs then I suggest you read all of the posts and see how many of the bugs had solutions.

CWP was sold only a few months ago.  That was when they started offering a non-free version called cwp-pro.  All versions will be charged in the very near future.  I suggest that you start preparing to pay, or find an alternative now before the proverbial stuff hits the fan.

Their mission says they aim to make it the most "affordable" web panel......in other words...$$$$$$$

This is a great webpanel make no mistake.

BUT not worth a dime as far as I am concerned.  There is ZERO support and TONS of bugs.  They provide a buggy webpanel and ask for money to fix the bugs.  The forum software they are using is one of the worst I have ever seen.  The only thing that could be worse is a blog instead of the forum. It is ironic that they rely on a FREE forum script called simple machines, yet they expect us to pay for the web panel.

The original owner had the right idea.  The new owners see dollar signs.  I wish them luck.  I will quickly switch to other alternative free web panels.  If I had to pay, I would go with the winner cpanel.  At this point, I could even continue without any webpanel.

CWP has a very very very long way to go before they can present themselves as a viable alternative to cpanel.

My house ip changes whenever we lose power.  I know there is a file to restrict logins to one or more ip addresses.

Is it possible to restrict to a range since my house ip doesnt change by much.?

I wasnt looking for a text output, I was looking for the command that was being invoked.  I am not familiar with crontab syntax.

Question is what exactly does that text equate to?

Sudio4Host bought out the control panel.  I believe they have a connection to ovh.com.  Ownership is also obfuscated.  :)

CentOS 7 Problems / su ssh login with private key Filezilla
« on: June 13, 2019, 04:05:10 PM »
Very strange, maybe normal but I dont know

Case #1

Filezilla login with private key as su1 with :

Filezilla remote directory: /home/non-su2/public_html

produces connection in nonsuperuser public directory with no up directory possible

Case #2

Filezilla login with private key as su1 with :

Filezilla remote directory: /home/su1

produces connection in su1 directory with no up directory or even lateral directory to /home/non-su2/public_html

Is this what we should expect?  Two different logins with the same credentials gives two different access permissions based on a setting in Filezilla remote directory. hmmmm
